The students have the subject pedagogic work 2 hours a week. Then they studies about the leaderrole, steering document and how children learn trough playing with each other and another important things. All the students have their own computer provided by the school.
At what stage of their course would the students study pedagogic work? I'm interested in how this part of the course is delivered....do you have practical activities, research, projects?
ReplyDeleteThey study pedagogic work in their second year of the education. In the first year they can choose between three different orientations in the programme: Pedagogics, social work and Leisure time and Health. If they choose pedagogics they study this subject 2 hours a week. The subject is mostly academic and they do the practical activities at the workplace learning. They have another subject that are called "creative work" (don´t know the right word in english). In this subject they do moore practical activitites like drama class (see my other pictures) and such.
ReplyDeleteSounds good Petra. What assessment tasks do they undertake in the pedagogy subject?
ReplyDeleteSince pedagogy is a academic subject the assessment tasks can be tests, oral presentation, group projects or essays. One essay they wrote during my practicum was to explain how the pre-school and school i Sweden conduce democratic citizens.
DeleteThat's a great way to encourage students to think deeply about pedagogy.
