This is my work!

I'm studying to become a teacher at the vocational programme "Child care and Recreation programme". I usually work as a pre-school teacher and this is my work. We are 5 pre-school teachers that work here and 3 nursery nurse. We have 2 sections; one for children between 1 and 3 years of age and one for children between 3 and 6 years of age. The sections are called Hallonet (the Raspberry) and Smultronet (the Wild Strawberry). They are 22 children at Hallonet and 15 children at Smultronet.

Can you explain the difference between what a pre-school teacher does and a nursery nurse?

  2. A pre-school teacher has an university exam, 3 1/2 year you have to study to become a pre-school teacher. In real life tou don´t see any different between a pre-school teacher and a nursery nurse but the teacher has the charge over the pedagogic work, the planning for the work and the documentation over each and one childs development. The pre-school teacher has also the responsibility that the parent-teacher conference takes place. The nursery nurse can also do all this work but the big difference is that the pre-school teacher has moore responsibility.

  3. Thanks Petra. Do you find that many nursery nurses want to study to become pre-school teachers?

  4. Some do but many thinks that it´s not worth it because the salary is not so much higher.
The nursery nurses can validate to become pre-school teachers then they don´t have to study for 3 1/2 years. I don´t know how much they study but they can work meanwhiles.
